Lawmakers in Olympia are FINALLY trying to do something about it. A new bill, SB 5236, would enact safe staffing standards that protect any one nurse or healthcare worker from having too many patients at once. If passed, the law would ensure that hospital executives hire enough staff members to ensure patient and worker safety.
